ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. – Rockdale County Parks and Recreation invites the community to attend the third annual Art for the Ages | Intergenerational Showcase Event on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Costley Mill Event Center.

This special cultural arts initiative celebrates creativity, culture, and community by bringing together seniors, youth, families, art lovers, and residents of all ages for a day of artistic expression and connection. The showcase will feature visual arts, dance performances, and a vibrant fashion presentation highlighting both seniors and youth from across Rockdale County.

“Art for the Ages is more than a showcase. It is a celebration of the talent, wisdom, energy, and creativity that exists across every generation in Rockdale County,” said Christine Carney, Director of Rockdale County Parks and Recreation. “This event gives our seniors and youth an opportunity to share the same stage, learn from one another, and build meaningful connections through the arts. We are proud to offer programs that promote inclusivity, cultural appreciation, and community pride.”

Rockdale Water Resources Launches New Online Self-Service Portal

ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. – Rockdale Water Resources is launching its new online self-service portal, providing customers with a modern, convenient platform to manage their water services and stay informed about their usage. The portal goes live on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

The new portal represents a significant upgrade to the county’s water management infrastructure, offering a suite of features designed to empower customers with greater control and visibility over their water services. Key capabilities include:

• Leak & High Usage Alerts: Real-time notifications that keep customers informed of unusual usage patterns, potential leaks, or high consumption before they become costly problems.
• Smart Meter Data: Access to detailed, up-to-date water usage data collected directly from smart meters, giving customers an accurate picture of their consumption at any time.
• Automated Service Requests: A streamlined, one-click system for submitting common service requests, reducing wait times and improving the overall customer experience.

Keep Conyers Rockdale Beautiful to Host Great American Cleanup

ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. – Keep Conyers Rockdale Beautiful KCRB invites the community to take part in the 2026 Great American Cleanup on Sunday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to noon at Pine Log Park, 1451 Pine Log Rd NE, Conyers, GA 30012, which will serve as the central meeting location.

As part of the nationwide Great American Cleanup, the country’s largest community improvement program, this year’s event holds added significance as communities across the nation recognize America’s 250th anniversary. This milestone is an opportunity to reflect on our shared history while taking action to care for the places we call home.

In Rockdale County, volunteers will come together to clean and restore parks, trails, and public spaces, helping protect local waterways and enhance the beauty of the community. Cleanup efforts will extend beyond Pine Log Park to additional locations, creating a coordinated, countywide impact.

This event is a collaborative effort of the City and the County, reflecting a shared commitment to environmental stewardship, community pride, and keeping Rockdale clean and beautiful.

Rockdale County Reflects on Congressman David Scott’s Impact Through Community Investments

ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. – In February, Rockdale County announced it had been awarded funding for vital community projects through the Fiscal Year 2026 Congressional appropriations process. Of these projects, Congressman David Scott approved funding for two initiatives totaling $665,200 to support trail connectivity and veteran transportation services.

The approved projects include:

Rockdale River Trail Improvements – $500,000 This funding will connect two currently disconnected portions of the Rockdale River Trail, providing residents with enhanced access to business centers, downtown Conyers, recreational opportunities, and the historic Monastery of the Holy Spirit. The trail connection will promote active transportation, economic development, and community wellness.

Rockdale Veterans Transportation Program Vehicle Acquisition – $165,200 This investment will allow Rockdale County to purchase a new vehicle to supplement its Veterans Transportation Program, which provides honorably discharged Rockdale County veterans of any age with reliable transportation to the Veterans Hospital in Decatur and VA clinics in Stockbridge and Covington.

Following his passing on April 22, Rockdale County reflects with gratitude on the many ways David Scott championed projects that strengthened the community and improved the quality of life for residents, including his ongoing constituent services efforts that connected residents to critical federal resources and support.

“Congressman David Scott demonstrated a strong commitment to serving communities across Georgia, including Rockdale County,” Chair and CEO JaNice Van Ness said. “His support for projects within our community to improve connectivity and invest in our veterans will have a meaningful impact for years to come.
