The UDO is being updated to modernize outdated regulations, align development with the county’s comprehensive plan, promote quality growth, and address current challenges such as residential development, transportation, and environmental preservation.

The UDO is the primary tool to implement the goals and policies of the Comprehensive Plan. The update will help ensure that zoning and land development regulations support the community’s vision for future growth and preservation.

Community input will help shape key priorities, identify needed changes, and ensure the updated code reflects local values and development goals.

The UDO will cover topics such as zoning districts, use regulations, subdivision design, housing standards, site design, signage, parking, landscaping, open space requirements, and more.

The project kicked off in Spring 2025 and is expected to conclude with adoption in Spring 2026.
